Wellness Wednesday: Spirit, Soul and Body

“Prayer and Fasting for the whole man”

As a unified church body, every Wednesday we will focus on our Wellness (Spirit, Soul, and Body), the 3 parts of man. God desires that the whole man be well.

Wellness Text: 1 Thess 5:23 ESV

Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you wholly, and may your whole spirit, soul, mind, and body be kept (preserved) blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ”.

The God of Peace Himself, will bestow peace upon us by sanctifying us.  Sanctify (sanctification as put into effect by God to the character of man). May your whole SPIRIT (innermost part, that possesses God consciousness and awareness. John 4:24; Rom 1:9. SOUL (our very self, that possesses self-consciousness, our personality, how we perceive things in the psychological realm). BODY (our external outer organ, that possesses world consciousness using our 5 senses).

God wants the whole man well.

Each Wednesday will be a time of Prayer and Fasting for the Wellness of the whole man, whether it is for 2, 4, 6, or 8 hours or all day (start small if you must but dedicate to God a time of Prayer and Fasting). “DO”’ take your meds as needed and you may drink water during your time of Prayer and Fasting (no flavored water or fruit water). WUMBC Family, please make every effort to do this each Wednesday. If you are Fasting for other “personal’ things, please do that on another day and “NOT” on Wellness Wednesday, as we all need to be on one accord for our Wellness Wednesday Prayer and Fasting.

Exercise

Take a brisk 5–10-minute walk (longer if you can), stretch back, legs and arms, workout with your body weight (push-ups, sit-ups, chair squats, etc.). Try to do this every Wednesday and build your way up. 3 John 1:2 “I would that you prosper and be in health even as your soul prospers”.
